Mark is a constant learner, if you meet him he will mention a book you should read and more times than not he will even send you that book to encourage you to read it. Mark loves yoga, mountain biking, and hiking at 5:30 am every morning with his dog, Pepper. In his spare time he enjoys reading, writing short stories and cooking. He also enjoys live entertainment of nearly any kind, and dancing.
He also loves building and remodeling homes in Austin, Texas which he has been doing for the past 25 years. He likes it so much he rarely refers to it as work or a job. It is what he does every day, like breathing.
After graduating from the University of Texas in 1984 he had a job for three months and ever since that time he has been self-employed. Although he has owned other businesses, the only business that has had his full time and attention has been home building. He is a Certified Graduate Remodeler and a Graduate Master Builder.
Mark is very proud of the family, friends and homes he has built over the past 25 years in Austin Texas. Mark loves his life.

Alan was born and raised in South Dakota to a family of home builders. He joined R Builders in 2020 after 30 years in the remodeling and custom home construction industry. His career spans historical restoration in Central Austin, custom cabinet production and most recently, as project manager for a custom home builder in West Austin.
As project manager, leading a team of tradesmen to do their best work for our clients is his goal. Fortunate to work with some of Austin’s most talented architects, Alan guides his clients through the many decisions required during a custom home build, from groundbreaking to final walk-through.
Cristie grew up in South Texas before moving to Austin. She’s known as a jack-of-all-trades, and is involved in estimating, contracts, and company processes among many other things. She is our resident technology guru, and if you have a need, she has an app for it!
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her children, attending musical performances, volunteering her time, and especially enjoys crafting. After all, why buy it when you can spend twice as much and make it half as well?
Shannon was raised in East Texas on a Black Angus cattle ranch. He spent his early days working with his dad and indulging in his overwhelming curiosity of the world around him. His family soon moved to the “city” of Allen, Tx with hopes of a better education and more opportunities.
After graduating high school, Shannon spent the summer abroad traveling across Europe exploring culture and history. After returning to the states, Shannon continued his exploration of the world in Washington DC at George Washington University and then to Colorado University Boulder. After following a girlfriend to Austin for a weekend trip, he never left.
Shannon spent 15 years in construction material sales before becoming a Project Manager. He has not lost his curiosity for exploration or his desire to learn. Rather, he has developed a focus for these traits in custom home building. His attention to detail and his desire for a satisfied client is what fuels his daily drive for excellence. At the completion of projects, the homes are not the only thing transformed, but clients often turn into friends.
When Shannon isn’t engaged with clients or his teammates he’s enjoying time exploring the world with his wife and two boys.
